Training courses on international laws for fishermen in Da Nang province

(vasep.com.vn) The Department of Capture Fisheries and Resources Protection under Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) cooperated with Da Nang sub-department of Fisheries to open training courses on Vietnamese and international laws on East Sea for more than 300 fishermen resided in the province.

(vasep.com.vn) Through April 2014, the Baria-Vungtau Seafood Processing and Im-Ex Joint Stock Company (Baseafood) totaled US$7 million from seafood exports, down 30 percent year on year. In which, frozen marine products (marine fish, cephalopod and surimi…) made up of 60 – 70 percent; the rest was dried seafood products sent to Russia and the Middle East.

Thailand shrimp exports continued to decline in QI/2014

(vasep.com.vn) In 2013, Thailand’s shrimp sector suffered a severe loss by Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS) outbreak. This led to a drastic fall in its shrimp output and export. Although EMS has been controlled in Thailand in 2014, its shrimp sector still needs several years to have a full recovery.
