(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the context of Vietnamese tuna exports to major EU importer fell, exports to Greece have grown impressively. By the end of July 2019, Vietnamese tuna exports to Greece increased by 104% over the same period in 2018, reaching nearly US$1.8 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The Netherlands is the third largest importer for Vietnamese cephalopod, accounting for 9% of Vietnamese cephalopod exports to the EU and 1.1% of Vietnamese cephalopod total exports to all markets. In the first 7 months of 2019, Vietnamese cephalopod exports to the Netherlands reached US $ 3.7 million, up 26.8% over the same period in 2018. Particularly in July 2019, the export of this item to the Netherlands reached US $ 0.9 million, up 12.2% compared to July 2018.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of the first half of August 2019, Pangasius exports to the US market reached US$175.9 million, down 38.7% compared to the same period in 2018. Thus, for nearly 7 consecutive months, pangasius exports to the US market have continued to decline sharply.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After unstable growth in the first 4 months of the year, Vietnamese shrimp exports to Japan grew steadily in three months of May, June and July, although the increase was not much. In July 2019, shrimp exports to this market reached nearly US$56 million, up 2.2%. Due to a sharp decline in January and April, in the first 7 months of this year, shrimp exports to Japan still decreased slightly by 2.8% to nearly US$329 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first quarter of 2019, Vietnam's bivalve mollusk exports increased slightly by 0.6% mainly due to sharp increase in exports in January, but from February to the end of June, exports declined continously. Export of bivalve mollusk has reversed to go up in July 2019. In the first 7 months of 2019, exports of this commodity reached nearly US$52 million, up slightly 0.24% over the same period in 2018.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Dong Thap provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural, the province has 2,450 hectares of pangasius ponds in value chain, 20 companies involved in pangasius farming for export (nearly 970 hectares) and 1,564 facilities where fries are produced and supplied to the market.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In July and the first 7 months of 2019, the fisheries sector continued to be a bright spot in the agricultural sector with a stable growth. Generally, in the first 7 months of 2019, seafood production is estimated at 4,521,000 MT, up 5.6% over the same period in 2018.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the report of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai Province, the fisheries output in the first 7 months of 2019 reached 155,677 MT, an increase of 7% over the same period in 2018, equal to 66.3% of the year plan; in which, capture output is estimated at 152,333 MT, aquaculture production reached 3,343 MT.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to statistics of the Vietnam Customs, Vietnam exported $429 million worth of tuna products in the first 7 months of 2019, up 20.3% over the same period in 2018. Thus, July is the 7th consecutive month that Vietnamese tuna exports have increased compared to the same period in 2018.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Until the end of July 2019, pangasius export value of 5 consecutive months decreased compared to the same period in 2018. Therefore, the total value of pangasius exports in the first 7 months of this year declined by 5.5%, reaching US$1.13 billion. Particularly in July 2019, pangasius export value fell by 12.7% over the same period last year.
