Vietnam sees a favorable opportunity for shrimp exports after COVID-19

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Among the main export seafood products of Vietnam, while exports of pangasius, tuna, and seafood all dipped, Vietnam's shrimp exports in the first quarter of 2020 were still better with a slight growth in the context of COVID-19 pandemic remains complex worldwide. If the Covid-19 pandemic is resolved by the end of the second quarter of 2020, the world market reopens, Vietnam shrimp can take advantage of opportunities to export after the Covid-19 period.

Fimex’s May production, sales value soar from April

Navico to kick off construction at collagen, gelatin plant in August

Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam-based pangasius firm Nam Viet Joint Stock Company, or Navico, plans to begin construction in August at a factory in Vietnam that would produce collagen and gelatin from pangasius, an official from Navico told SeafoodSource earlier this week.

Vietnam seafood exports in May 2020 to decrease slightly by 1.6%

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Vietnam Customs statistics, by the end of April 2020, the country's seafood exports reached US$2.23 billion, down nearly 8% compared to the same period in 2019. In particular, exports in April 2020 decreased slightly by 2.9%. Seafood exports in May 2020 expected to decrease slightly by 1.6% to US$570 million, bringing the total exports of the first 5 months of 2020 to nearly US$3 billion, down over 6% over the same period last year.

Vietnam raised exports of canned tuna to Portugal

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Canned tuna imports in Portugal in 2019 were lower than that of 2018. According to Eurostat statistics, canned tuna imports of Portugal from the main exporters outside the EU in 2019 largely decreased compared to 2018, while imports from intra-bloc countries rose.

Go Cong Dong (Tien Giang): Over 19,000 MT aquatic products of fishery production

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first quarter of 2020, Go Cong Dong district (Tien Giang province) achieved an output from aquaculture and fishing 19,450 MT of aquatic products of all kinds. In particular, 4,950 MT is harvested from aquaculture, the remaining is fished from marine fishing with 14,500 MT.
