Japanese tuna imports rose

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnamese tuna exports to Japan decreased continuously in the last months of 2018. However, the trend of growth has been positive in 2019. Tuna export value to this market in September reached US $ 2.1 million, up 19% over the same period in 2018. Therefore, the total value in the first 9 months of 2019 still increased by 7.3% compared to the same period in 2018, reached nearly US$21 million.

Shrimp exports to China recovered

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After decling in the first months of 2019, Vietnamses shrimp exports to China began to recover from May to August with double-digit growth. In August 2019, Vietnamses shrimp exports to China rose by 30% to US$ 51.4 million. In the first eight months of 2019, shrimp exports to this market reached US$336.5 million, up 5% over the same period in 2018.

Vietnamese fish paste and surimi exports rose by 13%

EU reduced import of canned tuna from Vietnam

This figure decreased by nearly 12% compared to the same period in 2018. Vietnamese canned tuna exports to EU countries have largely decreased over the same period in 2018.

Organic pangasius fillets are being sold in Germany

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of the first half of August 2019, the total export value of pangasius to the German market reached US$20.4 million, up 35.4% over the same period in 2018. Currently, Germany is the third largest exporter of Vietnamese pangasius in the EU.

Demand for crabs in the US rose

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The US was the largest crabs importer of Vietnam, accounting for 39.8% of Vietnamese crabs exports to markets. In the first 7 months of 2019, Vietnamese crabs exports to the US were not stable, the export value of this product to the US rose sharply in January and March while declining in the other months.

Tuna exports growth tended to slow down

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In August 2019, Vietnamese tuna exports continued to grow slowly. Export value of tuna in August only reached nearly US$65 million, up nearly 3% over the same period in 2018, bringing the total export value in the first 8 months to US$494 million.

Vietnamese shrimp exports to Taiwan remained stable

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Taiwan was Vietnam's 8th largest shrimp importer, accounting for 1.8% of Vietnam's total shrimp export value to markets. Vietnamese shrimp exports to Taiwan were quite stable in the first 7 months of 2019.

The demand for surimi in Japan went up

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Japan is the largest surimi consumer in the world, accounting for about 30% of the total surimi import value all over the globe. Import of surimi into Japan has been increasing continuously since 2017 and it is expected that Japan's surimi demand will remain high this year.

Pangasius exports to Malaysia rose by 25%

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of the first half of August 2019, the total export value of pangasius to Malaysia reached US $ 27.1 million, up 25% over the same period in 2018. Currently, Malaysia is the second largest importer of Vietnamese pangasius in ASEAN (after Thailand).
