China remains the world’s largest seafood exporter in 2025
(vasep.com.vn) According to statistics released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on September 24, 2026, China remained the world’s largest seafood exporter in 2025, with export value reaching approximately USD 19.9 billion. Norway ranked second with USD 17.2 billion, while Ecuador rose to third place with USD 10.8 billion.
The next group of leading exporters included the EU with USD 9.1 billion, Chile with USD 8.9 billion, and India with USD 8.3 billion. Canada ranked seventh with USD 6.1 billion, followed by Indonesia with USD 5.8 billion. Thailand and the United States ranked ninth and tenth, respectively, with approximately USD 5.5 billion each, completing the world’s top 10 seafood exporters.
The data show that global seafood exports in 2025 remained highly concentrated among major production hubs in Asia, Europe, and South America. Notably, Ecuador continued to hold a strong position in global seafood trade, while Indonesia and Thailand also maintained significant roles among the world’s leading seafood exporters.
