(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After months of continuous decline, Vietnam's tuna exports to the UK grew strongly again in September 2022. The value of tuna exports to this market in September increased by 162% compared to the same period in 2021. However, this figure was not enough to compensate for the previous decrease, so the export turnover to this market in the first 9 months of 2022, it still decreased by 28%, reaching nearly $3.4 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) 2022 is a year with many changes and difficulties for the import-export industry, including the seafood industry. However, Vietnamese seafood enterprises have turned challenges into opportunities, taking advantage of FTAs as well as market demand to boost exports in 2022. As a result, by the end of October, Vietnam's seafood exports brought in US$9.4 billion, up 33% over the same period last year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to customs statistics, Vietnam's pangasius exports as of October 15, 2022 reached more than 2 million USD, up 81% over the same period last year. It is estimated that by the end of October, pangasius exports will bring in over $2.1 billion. In particular, in October 2022 alone, pangasius exports were estimated at US$159 million, up 16%.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Customs statistics, by mid-October 2022, the country's pangasius exports reached 2.06 billion USD, an increase of 60% over the same period in 2022. By the end of October 2022, pangasius exports is forecast to earn nearly 2.2 billion USD in foreign currency, an increase of 80% compared to the same period in 2021. Of which, the Chinese market alone accounted for 30% with about 654 million USD, up 110%.

However, looking at the export performance in September, we can see that inflation has strongly hit all food and seafood industries, not excluding pangasius.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Profit after tax (PAT) in the Q3 of seafood enterprises such as VHC, ANV, and FMC, still increased sharply compared to the low base level of the same period but has passed the peak of the Q2. In contrast, the PAT of MPC in the third quarter declined YoY but increased QoQ.
