Vietnam’s seafood exports are back on track and accelerating

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In August 2023, Vietnam seafood exports to many markets reached their highest level since the beginning of the year. That result is a signal that seafood exports are back on track and will gradually accelerate in the last months of the year.

Vietnam's seafood exports to the US, China and Japan have all exceeded 1 billion USD

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In September 2023, Vietnam's seafood exports are estimated to reach 862 million USD, equivalent to the same period in 2022. Accumulated to the end of the third quarter of 2023, seafood exports will reach over 6.6 billion USD, down 22% over the same period.

Germany ranked 2nd in importing Vietnamese pangasius in the EU

After increasing imports in the first months of this year, pangasius exports to this market experienced negative growth for 3 consecutive months in June, July, and August.

August 2023 - tuna exports reached their highest level since the beginning of the year

This is the lowest decrease and the highest value since the beginning of this year. Cumulatively in the first 8 months of this year, tuna exports reached 545 million USD, down 25% over the same period.

Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to Korea increase by 8% in August 2023

In August 2023 alone, exports of this product reached 67 million USD, down 11% over the same period. Despite continuing to see a decline, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports in August had a smaller decrease in value compared to other key seafood products.

Vietnam's tuna exports to Chile continue to increase

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first half of August 2023, pangasius exports to the UK reached nearly 2 million USD, down 41% compared to the same period last year (more than 3 million USD), accounting for 3%. As of August 15 2023, Vietnam’s pangasius exports to this market reached nearly 42 million USD, down 2.4% over the same period in 2022 - a lighter decline than the sharp decline in exports to other major markets such as the US, EU, and China.
