What’s causing the pangasius sales crash?

(SeafoodSource) The latest issue of the Globefish Highlights, published by the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in mid-August, starkly illustrates the dramatic decline in sales of pangasius to European countries. Imports to the EU are down by a massive 27 percent in volume and 22 percent in value compared with the year before.

Japan's ethoxyquin restrictions in shrimp imports are unreasonable compared to US, EU

(Vietnamnet) On August 31, Japanese competent agencies ordered to examine 100 percent of the consignments of shrimp products imported from Vietnam. The Ethoxyquin content must not be higher than 0.01 ppm, while the products which cannot satisfy the strict requirement must be refused.
