Agifish applying BAP standards to penetrate in the U.S
(vasep.com.vn) From 18th to 22nd September 2012, NSF Sure Fish - an accredited third-party and non-governmental seafood safety and quality company – sent experts to take audits and assess two pangasius processing plants of An Giang Fisheries Import and Export Joint Stock Company (Agifish) under the Best Aquaculture Pratices (BAP) standard.
BAP standard is developed by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) and based on four basic elements including food safety, social responsibility, environmental protection and traceability.
Agifish under Hung Vuong Corp cooperated with GAA to apply BAP standards in its processing plants, fish farms, hatchery and aquatic feed plant with an aim to ensure the products’ quality and food safety. An Giang-based firm aims to sustainably improve its range of certified-fish products as well as develop sales in the U.S. market.
