(vasep.com.vn) At 9 a.m on 6 August 2014, the opening plenary of the Vietnam Fisheries International Exhibition 2014 (Vietfish 2014) was jubilantly held in the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC - 799 Nguyen Van Linh Ave., District 7, Ho Chi Minh city). The exhibition is held from 6 to 8 August 2014. For the 16th exhibition, many changes are made. The time was moved from June to August.

(IntraFish) With Sweetwater Biofuels’ Boston Seafood Show debut came the introduction of a new way for seafood companies to make and save money while earning sustainability points -- by selling fish fat off for conversion into biofuel.

(vasep.com.vn) Ho Chi Minh City, August 6th 2014 – In the framework of Vietfish 2014 and the EC-cofunded project “Establishing a Sustainable Pangasius Supply Chain in Vietnam” (SUPA), VASEP, Vietnam Pangasius Forum and the SUPA project partners (Vietnam Cleaner Production Centre (VNCPC), WWF Vietnam, WWF Austria & VASEP) in partnership with the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) joined together to host a “Vietnam Pangasius Forum - Vietfish 2014” with the theme “The sustainable growth for pangasius at European market” on Aug 6th 2014.

(vasep.com.vn) On the afternoon of 5th August, in Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh Province, Binh Dinh Fishery Joint Stock Company (Bidifisco) and Japanese Kato Hitoshi Office Co Ltd (Kato Office) signed a contract to export ocean tuna to Japan. This event was witnessed by Government Office, provincial leaders of Binh Dinh, experts, Japanese tuna importers and SaKai Japan- Vietnam Friendship association.

(vasep.com.vn) The first tuna batch of Binh Dinh fishermen with cut-the edge technology is auctioned today (8th August).

(vasep.com.vn) Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Service (VPSS) announced the removal of suspension on importing seafood into Russia and Eurasian Customs Union from 7 Vietnam companies, including 5 frozen Pangasius producers and 2 frozen shrimp processors.
