However, with efforts of enterprise community and recovery in importing demand from some markets, Vietnam’s seafood export turnover in QII/2016 remained the growth of 2.1% after the advance of 6.4% in QI.

Ca Mau: Up in fishery production in August 2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In August 2016, the aquaculture and capture output in Ca Mau province (Vietnam) estimated at 40,000 MT, up 1.5% over the previous month and up 8.1% year on year. The figure in Jan-Aug 2016 estimated at 328,100 MT, completing 61.9% of the plan, down 4% over the same period last year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In Jan-Jul 2016, Vietnam shrimp exports to the U.S. reported the continuous growth except for the slight reduction of 1.5% in June; sales in Feb saw the sharpest growth of 52.3% from Feb 2015; sales in Jul saw the highest value in Jan-Jul 2016.

Vietnam raised selling poulp squid to S.Korea

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first 7 months of this year, Vietnam cephalopod exports to South Korea valued at US$81.2 million, down 7.7% from the same period last year. After drops in exports to this market in Feb-May 2016, there have been signs of recovery since June. However, South Korea still remained the leading importer of Vietnam cephalopod, accounting for 37.2%.

EU-Vietnam free trade deal to benefit both parties
