Vietnam black tiger price is more competitive in US

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The US remained to be the largest importer of Vietnam shrimp, accounting for 24.5% of total exports. After 38.3% decline in 2015, in QI/2016, shrimp exports to the market reported positive growth. Exports in Jan, Feb, Mar reported the growth of 22-52% compared with the same month of 2015. Vietnam shrimp exports to the U.S. in the first 4 months of this year reached US$199,8 million; up 21.8% over the same period in 2015.

Senate passes catfish inspection rollback

Dong Thap: 100,000 MT of pangasius output in Jan-Apr 2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In Apr 2016, pangasius yield in Dong Thap province was estimated at 30,010 MT, and the figure in the first 4 months of the year was at 109,835 MT. Raw pangasius price recently quoted at VND22,000 - 22,500/kg (fish size of 0.7-0.9 kg/pc), equal to the same period last year.

Minh Phu Corp: Export turnover to hit US$687 million

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The annual shareholders' meeting 2016 of Minh Phu Seafood Corporation (Minh Phu Corp, or MPC) has approved many important issues. In 2016, MPC planned to reach VND16,346 billion in consolidated sales and US$687 million in consolidated export turnover. Besdies, consolidated profit before tax expected to hit VND593 billion and consolidated profit after tax with VND546 billion.

ASEAN – promising market of Vietnam tuna

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) While Vietnam's tuna exports to major markets such as the U.S, the EU and Japan were on the downward trend in the first 3 months of this year, the figure to ASEAN showed the positive growth. The total export value of tuna to this market in QI/2016 reached US$10.3 million, up 19.5% from QI/2015.

QI/2016: Export upswing for Vietnamese shrimp

Up 16.3% in pangasius exports to Thailand

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of Mar 2016, Vietnam pangasius exports to the ASEAN countries gained US$33.47 million. Of that, the figure to Thailand estimated at US$12.47 million, picking up 36.4% of the total export value to the region.

Fimex VN: Sales hit US$24.8 million in QI/2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In QI/2016, processed shrimp production of Sao Ta Foods Joint-Stock Company (Fimex VN; HOSE: FMC) touched 2,265 MT, up 21% compared with 1,870 MT in QI/2015. Of that, shrimp consumption volume in the period reached 2,243 MT, up 20% from QI/2015 (1,869 MT).
