While Vietnam tuna exports to major markets such as the U.S, EU and Japan witnessed a fall in recent months, those to Canada posted a continuous rise. Canada is regarded as a potential market to replace some traditional markets of Vietnam tuna at this time.

Fimex VN: Shrimp sales rose in Jul 2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In July 2016, processed shrimp production of Sao Ta Foods Joint-Stock Company (Fimex VN; HOSE: FMC) reached 1,450 MT, up 18% from 1,232 MT in the same period last year. This is the time for farmers to start harvesting shrimp; however the price of raw shrimp is still high due to low supply.

Vietnam cephalopod exports Jan - Jun 2016

Continuous rise in Vietnam shrimp exports

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam shrimp exports in Jul 2016 saw the highest in the first 7 months of this year with the export turnover of US$274 million, an increase of 4% compared to Jul 2015. In Jan-Jul 2016, Vietnam’s shrimp sales reached US$1.6 billion; up 4.6% from the same period of last year.

Korea remained the 1st in importing Vietnamese cephalopod

Exports to top 4 leading cephalopod importers of Vietnam showed the decline. South Korea and Japan remained to rank the 1st and the 2nd out of top largest importers, while the EU outstripped Asean to rank the 3rd this year and Asean ranked the 4th.
