Satra launches convenience stores in Can Tho

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In 2016, total fishery production in Ho Chi Minh city (Vietnam) estimated at 57,412.7 MT, up 3.3% over the previous year. Of that, aquaculture output amounted to 37,485 MT, up 10.6% (shrimp volume accounted for 37.3%, up 8.8%; the output of other seafood items took up 47.4%, up 35.6%); capture output hit at 19,927.8 MT, down 8.1% year on year.

106 poor families received financial support from SUPA – a EU-funded project

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In Oct 2016, Vietnam’s shrimp exports gained over US$337 million, up 6% from Sep 2016 and 3% over the same period of 2016. The figure in Jan-Oct 2016 valued at US$2.58 billion, up 5.2% year on year. Total shrimp export value continued to increase thanks to high demand in markets, in which, exports to three major importing markets (US, EU, China) recorded the good growth.

According to statistics of the International Trade Centre (ITC), as of Oct 2016, tuna imports into ASEAN countries reached US$1.3 billion, up 25% compared to the same period of 2015.
