As of Aug 2016, Vietnam pangasius exports to Germany valued at US$19.7 million, up 4% compared to the same period last year. Out of top 4 largest importing markets in the bloc, shipments to Germany showed the highest growth, while those to others posted the decreases.

Currently, Vietnam is regarded as almost the exclusive source for pangasius to Australia, with the export proportion reaching up to 98%. The country is also the leading exporter of processed shrimp to Australia, occupying 31.1% of total import value. In terms of tuna, Vietnam ranked the 4th with the market share of 1%.

Besides, the province focused on implementing the Decree 67 of the Prime Minister on some policies supporting fishery industry’s development. Accordingly, vessels’ owners received loans to build or renovate their off-shore fishing vessels.
