VN shrimp sales to Japan to rise slightly in the year end

(seafood. vasep.com.vn) After the year-on-year decline in 2015, demand for shrimp imports into Japan was more positive in the early 2016. Shrimp imports into the market in Jan-Aug 2016 reached the volume of 132,198 MT, worth by US$1.4 billion; up 4.6% and 0.8%, respectively.

VN seafood sales rose 5.3% in Jan-Sep

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Until Sep 2016, export turnover of almost seafood products by Vietnam showed the growth or slight decline on par with the same period of last year. In particularly, shrimp exports rose 5.6%; pangasius up 6.2%; tuna up 3.8%; other finfish up 7.3%, crab and other crustacean up 10.4% and mollusk downed 3.4%.

VN detects over 1,000 marine species

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In Aug and Sep 2016, Vietnam pangasius exports to China peaked at US$30.9 million and US$30 million, respectively. As of Sep 2016, Vietnam pangasius exports to China -Hong Kong totaled US$201.9 million, up 75.6% over the same period last year. After months of consecutive growth, China has overtaken the EU to become the 2nd largest buyer (behind the U.S.) of Vietnam pangasius.
