QI: Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to EU rose 79.8%

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first quarter of 2017, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to the EU reached US$20.04 million, up 79.8% over the same period in 2016. Italy was the leading importer in the bloc with the value of US$11.8 million, up 72.5%; followed by France with US$2.1 million, up 339.3% and the Netherlands with US$1.2 million, up 234% year on year. The EU ranked the 3rd in top largest buyers of Vietnam cephalopod, picking up 19%, up from 14% in QI/2016.

Shrimp exports to Germany: White shrimp occupied 83% of the total

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of March 2017, Germany held as the third largest importing market of Vietnam shrimp in the EU, accounting for 3% of total shrimp export of Vietnam to markets. In Jan-Mar 2017, Vietnam’s shrimp exports to Germany reached US$18.4 million, down 22.8% over the same period in 2016.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In May 2017, the area for intensive, semi-intensive shrimp stocking reached 1,846 hectares (including 994 hectares for black tiger shrimp farming, 852 hectares for whiteleg shrimp farming), down 05 hectares compared to the previous month and up 515 hectares over the same period in 2016.

Seaprodex: Net profit hit over VND70 billion in QI/2017

Accordingly, in the period, SEA reached VND386.56 billion in its sales; VND71.27 billion in profit after tax, of which profit to its parent company was VND68.99 billion.
