Bac Lieu: Fisheries output reached 71,700 MT in Jan-Apr 2017

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The aquaculture area of Bac Lieu province in April 2017 reached 108,437 ha; in which, the area for shrimp farming was 107,748 ha (that for intensive and semi-intensive black tiger shrimp and whiteleg shrimp was 3,467 ha, and that for other types of farming was 104,281 ha) and the area for fish and other marine products was 689 ha.

Khanh Hoa: Seafood production is estimated at over 41,600 tons

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the statistics from Khanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in Jan-May 2017, the total aquaculture and capture output in Khanh Hoa province reached over 41,600 MT. Of that, aquaculture production hit 4,237 MT, completing 31% of the plan; capture output touched 37,395 MT, completing 40% of the plan.

Vietnam-EU trade up 16.2 per cent in five months

Two-way trade between Vietnam and the European Union (EU) grew 16.2 per cent year-on-year in the first five months of 2017, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Khanh Hoa: Capture output totaled 553 MT

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the statistics of Khanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in April 2017, capture output of the province hit 182 MT; the figure in Jan-Apr 2017 was 553 MT, completing 46% of the plan. The farming area reached 342 ha, completing 76% of the plan with the aquaculture volume of 162 MT, completing 14% of the plan.

May 2017: Aquaculture output hit 370,000 MT

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In May 2017, Vietnam’s aquaculture production reached 370 thousand MT, up 3.3% over the previous year, the figure in Jan-May 2017 estimated at 1,235 thousand MT, up 2.4% year on year.

Jan-May 2017: Capture output touched 1,327 thousand MT

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In May 2017, Vietnam’s capture volume totaled 311.9 thousand MT, the figure in Jan-May 2017 amounted to 1,327 thousand MT, increasing by 5.2% over the same period last year. Of that, marine catch reached 1,264 thousand MT, up 5.5%; and inland catch hit 63,000 MT, equal to last year.

Fimex VN: Up in frozen processed shrimp output
