Officials of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho introduced the local potential and advantages to French companies and called for their investment, especially in agriculture, during a meeting on April 10.

The fourth Viet Nam Fisheries Golden Quality 2017 award will be granted for 100 businesses, individuals and collectives which are the good examples in the field of fisheries.

The price of the fish has been rising since before Tet (Lunar New Year) at the end of January and now stands at 27,000 VND (1.2 USD) per kilogramme, thought to be the highest level in the last few years.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau is one of the most important coastal provinces in the South East of Viet Nam, having a long-standing fishery with fishing grounds of over 100 square kilometers. The province's total capture fisheries output has maintained an average annual growth of 3.48%, from over 250 thousand tons in 2010 to nearly 300 thousand tons in 2016. Fishing fleet of the province has about 6,277 fishing vessels with a total capacity of more than 1.4 million horse power (hp). In addition, under the Decree No. 67/2014/NĐ-CP on fisheries development policies, the province has decided to approve the construction of 119 vessels, upgrading capacity to over 800 hp for 77 vessels.

Early of this year, Tien Giang province got favorable conditions, thus total marine capture production has increased obviously.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the early 2017, Vietnam's tuna exports to Tunisia grew impressively, export value as of Feb 15th 2017 reached US$999 thousand, up 1.047% over the same period 2016. With this growth, Tunisia rose to become the 8th largest importer of Vietnam tuna.

The Red River delta province of Thai Binh is scheduled to present licences to 11 investment projects worth 2,016 billion VND (87.65 million USD) at a conference to promote investment in agriculture and rural areas on April 8.
