Up 55% in Vietnam cephalopod sales

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam’s cephalopod exports from the beginning of this year were on the upward trend over the same period last year. As of August 2017, the figure totaled US$402 million, up 55% year on year. The export value to top 9 major markets reported the good growth from the same period in 2016. Supplies increased thanks to a rise in production and export volume, along with the flexibility of exporters in adjusting the structure of production and markets.

Vietnam tuna sales rose by 21%

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of August 2017, Vietnam’s tuna exports valued at US$376 million, up 21% year on year. The export value to top 8 major importing markets witnessed the good growth over the same period of 2016, except for ASEAN.

Vietnam cephalopod sales to France rocketed

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) France currently stays as the 11th largest importing market of cephalopod in the world as well as the 6th leading buyer of Vietnam cephalopod. In the first 7 months of this year, cephalopod imports into France from Vietnam reported the impressive growth of 274% to eye US$6.1 million.

Egypt - The potential importer for Vietnam tuna

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As the largest tuna buyer in the Middle East, Egypt annually imports about US$130 million of tuna products. In particular, imports of canned tuna accounted for 99% of the country's total tuna imports over the last 10 years. 100% of canned tuna products in Egypt are imported, which is due to the fact that the country does not have a processing plant. Most of processed canned tuna products into this country are for domestic consumption, with a few being exported to Sudan.

Up 18.5% in Vietnam shrimp exports

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of July 2017, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports totaled US$333 million, up 63% over the same period last year. In the period, exports of squid took up the main share of over 60% in Vietnam’s total export value while those of octopus accounted for 40%.

Up 8.2% in Vietnam pangasius sales

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of July 2017, Vietnam’s pangasius exports totaled US$1 billion, up 8.2% over the same period last year. Out of top 10 major importing markets, despite the year-on-year fall of 23.5% of exports to the EU, shipments to some potential markets such as Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Saudi Arabia experienced the positive growth.
