Agro-forestry-aquatic product exports hit 13.7 billion USD

The export value of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products reached 13.7 billion USD in the first five months of 2017, a year-on-year increase of 9.5 percent.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In Jan - Mar 2017, Vietnam seafood exports reported a y-o-y growth of 4.7% to reach US$1.5 billion. Among 4 largest markets of Vietnam seafood, seafood exports Japan and China rose 26,8% and 11%; respectively; exports to the US and the EU downed 16,4% and 0,01%; respectively. Importing markets and main products are as follows:

Regulations concerning exporting pangasius from Vietnam towards the US will be tightened from September onwards. QI/2017: Soar in Vietnam cephalopod exports

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first three months of 2017, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports totaled US$107.1 million, up 31.4% over the same period last year. In QI/2016, exports of squid and octopus picked up the equal proportion, and tended to decline. However, in QI/2017, shipments of squid and octopus witnessed the positive growth and the proportion of these two items had more disparity.

Bac Lieu to become the largest industrial shrimp farming area of Vietnam

Particularly, in recent years, the province has developed a model of high-tech shrimp farming to become the centre of industrial shrimp farming in the country.
