Swire sells Swire Cold Storage to Emergent Cold

John Swire & Sons Ltd (Swire) and Emergent Cold announced they have signed a Sale and Purchase agreement to sell Swire Cold Storage Pty Ltd and Swire Cold Storage Vietnam to Emergent Cold. Both cold storage businesses have been sold as a going concern and all assets, including customer and employee contracts, warehouses and land will be transferred to the new ownership. The transaction completed on December 22, 2017. Further details of the transaction were not disclosed

Up 53.3% in Vietnam cephalopod exports

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam’s cephalopod exports from the beginning of this year were on the upward trend over the same period last year. As of Sep 2017, the figure totaled US$457.9 million, up 53.5% over the same period last year. Exports to top 9 major markets recorded the good growth over the same period in 2016. Supplies increased thanks to a rise in production and export volume, along with the flexibility of exporters in adjusting the structure of production and markets.

Tuna exports rose 21.2% in Jan-Sep 2017

Vietnam shrimp sales to go on the rise in QIV

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After a reduction in the first quarter, Vietnam’s shrimp exports in QII and QIII/2017 showed the possitive growth. Of that, exports in QII increased by 52% over QI, exports in QIII increased by 25% over QII and 90% over QI. Vietnam’s shrimp exports in the first nine months of the year reached US$2.7 billion; up 21.4% over the same period in 2016.
