(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Taiwan was Vietnam's 8th largest shrimp importer, accounting for 1.7% of Vietnam's total shrimp export value to markets. Vietnamese shrimp exports to Taiwan were quite stable in the first 9 months of 2019.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the latest data of the US Department of Agriculture, in the first 8 months of 2019, the US imported 432,820 tons of shrimp, worth US $ 3.6 billion, up 1% in volume and 5% in value over the same period in 2018. Top 6 largest shrimp suppliers to the US included India (accounting for 38% of the total import value of shrimp into the US), Indonesia (19.5%), Ecuador (10.3%), Vietnam (10.1 %), Thailand (7.7%) and China (2%).

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After a decline in the second quarter of 2019, Vietnamese bivalve mollusk exports grew well in the third quarter of 2019 with an increase of 25.5% to US$25.4 million. In the first 9 months of 2019, Vietnamses export of this item reached nearly US$69 million, up 4.3% year on year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the past 9 months of 2019, the fishing activities in Phu Yen province were favorable, the capture production reached nearly 55,000 MT, up 3% over the same period; in which tuna catch hit more than 3,335 MT, up 4.7%.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the statistics of Directorate of Fisheries, the Mekong Delta has a brackish water shrimp farming area of over 620,000 hectares (accounting for over 91% of the country's shrimp farming area); the annual harvested shrimp output is about 484,000 MT (accounting for 81% of the national shrimp output).
