(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of the first half of August 2019, the total export value of pangasius to the German market reached US$20.4 million, up 35.4% over the same period in 2018. Currently, Germany is the third largest exporter of Vietnamese pangasius in the EU.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The US was the largest crabs importer of Vietnam, accounting for 39.8% of Vietnamese crabs exports to markets. In the first 7 months of 2019, Vietnamese crabs exports to the US were not stable, the export value of this product to the US rose sharply in January and March while declining in the other months.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In August 2019, Vietnamese tuna exports continued to grow slowly. Export value of tuna in August only reached nearly US$65 million, up nearly 3% over the same period in 2018, bringing the total export value in the first 8 months to US$494 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Taiwan was Vietnam's 8th largest shrimp importer, accounting for 1.8% of Vietnam's total shrimp export value to markets. Vietnamese shrimp exports to Taiwan were quite stable in the first 7 months of 2019.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Japan is the largest surimi consumer in the world, accounting for about 30% of the total surimi import value all over the globe. Import of surimi into Japan has been increasing continuously since 2017 and it is expected that Japan's surimi demand will remain high this year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of the first half of August 2019, the total export value of pangasius to Malaysia reached US $ 27.1 million, up 25% over the same period in 2018. Currently, Malaysia is the second largest importer of Vietnamese pangasius in ASEAN (after Thailand).

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the context of Vietnamese tuna exports to major EU importer fell, exports to Greece have grown impressively. By the end of July 2019, Vietnamese tuna exports to Greece increased by 104% over the same period in 2018, reaching nearly US$1.8 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The Netherlands is the third largest importer for Vietnamese cephalopod, accounting for 9% of Vietnamese cephalopod exports to the EU and 1.1% of Vietnamese cephalopod total exports to all markets. In the first 7 months of 2019, Vietnamese cephalopod exports to the Netherlands reached US $ 3.7 million, up 26.8% over the same period in 2018. Particularly in July 2019, the export of this item to the Netherlands reached US $ 0.9 million, up 12.2% compared to July 2018.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of the first half of August 2019, Pangasius exports to the US market reached US$175.9 million, down 38.7% compared to the same period in 2018. Thus, for nearly 7 consecutive months, pangasius exports to the US market have continued to decline sharply.

Vietnamese shrimp has the highest price in Japanese market

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After unstable growth in the first 4 months of the year, Vietnamese shrimp exports to Japan grew steadily in three months of May, June and July, although the increase was not much. In July 2019, shrimp exports to this market reached nearly US$56 million, up 2.2%. Due to a sharp decline in January and April, in the first 7 months of this year, shrimp exports to Japan still decreased slightly by 2.8% to nearly US$329 million.
