Activities at fishing ports and border guard stations were very lively but tightly controlled. A total of 1,400 vessels entered and exited through border checkpoints. Through the port control system, 675 vessels docked, unloading over 700 tons of seafood. Notably, traceability was strictly enforced during the week, with 264 tons of seafood receiving receipts. Authorities also collected 444 fishing logbooks, ensuring transparency in production reporting.

Since the beginning of the year, authorities in Quang Ngai province have detected and handled 9 fishing vessels violating regulations related to the VMS (Vehicle Monitoring System). Of these, administrative penalties totaling 500 million VND were issued to 3 vessels for exceeding permitted boundaries at sea. Border guards and port authorities have conducted oral awareness campaigns and distributed leaflets to over 400 fishermen directly at docks and harbors. Quang Ngai province's newspapers, radio, and television have also continuously broadcast special reports on combating IUU (Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated) fishing to raise awareness among the local population.

The figures on penalties and enforcement over the past period are proof of Quang Ngai province's resolute stance: There are no exceptions for IUU violations. For the sustainable development of the fisheries sector and to protect long-term livelihoods, fishermen need to continue maintaining 24/7 VMS connectivity and strictly adhere to fishing boundaries. Let's work together so that Quang Ngai seafood can confidently venture out to sea.
