Satra opens its 45th store

(vasep.com.vn) On 9th September, Saigon Trading Group opened its stores at 32, Dong Khoi Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. This is the 4th shop in the city, increasing the total number of stores to 45.

New Wind Seafood Co. Ltd: stable demand for shrimp in Japan

(vasep.com.vn) Value of New Wind Seafood Co. Ltd exports in the first 8 months of 2014 reached US$ 7 million. The company exported shrimps to Japan, South Korea and the United States. However, tempura shrimp is the only product the company sells to the United States. Japan is the largest market for this company, accounted for 85% of total export volume.

Shrimp exports to South Korea increased by 114.5%

As of 15th August 2014, shrimp exports are still in favorable conditions as exports to main markets are strongly growing. Particularly, exports to South Korea increased by 114.5% year on year. Eight first months of 2014 saw an 80.3% increase in exports to the United States, 4.8% rise to Japan and 98.8% surge to EU.

Thailand became the top pangasius importer among ASEAN nations

(vasep.com.vn) According to Vietnam General Customs, pangasius exports to Thailand reached US$ 27.98 million, up 40% year on year, making it the largest pangasius importer in ASEAN. Since the beginning of the year, pangasius exports has had positive growth.

From 12th September 2014: starting registration for pangasius export contracts

(vasep.com.vn) From 12th September 2014, pangasius exporters must register for their contracts with Vietnam Pangasius Association. Until 31st May 2015, files include registration form issued by Vietnam Pangasius Association, notarized copy of certificates for food safety and hygiene and notarized copy of contracts.

Khanh Hoa: 480 hatcheries established

Vietnam seafood exports to reach US$5 billion in 8 months

(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam seafood exports in first 8 months of 2014 is estimated to reach US$5 billion, up 20% over the same period of 2013. The growth was seen mostly in shrimp exports to all foreign markets of Vietnam. Sales of cephalopod, crab and other marine fish species were also increasing through months. However, pangasius products saw slight drop and tuna saw deep fall in exports.

An aquaculture breakthrough
