Seafood production reached over 5.2 million MT in 10 months

(vasep.com.vn) As reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, from January to October, fisheries production was estimated at 2,486 thousand MT, up 4.5% year on year. Marine catch reached 2,325 thousand MT, up 4.8% year on year. High value fish were caught, improving better income for fishermen.

Nam Can District: Seafood exports up 38%

(vasep.com.vn) From the beginning of 2014, Nam Can district has supplied 2,290 MT of processed seafood, 2,000 MT of which were exported. Most of exported seafood products of Nam Can were frozen shrimp. Exports reached US$ 34.5 million, up 38% year on year.

Surimi exports to Russia increased sharply

(vasep.com.vn) Total export value in 9 months reached over US$ 206 million, up nearly 31% year on year. It is the surge in exports to key markets such as China, Taiwan and Russia, especially to Russia (particularly upped 118% year on year), that boosted the export value of this commodity.

Vietnam’s tuna exports to the US recovers

(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam's tuna exports to the US recovered as export value was US$ 43 million, up 12% year on year. Yearly accumulated tuna export value reached over US$ 128 million, down 13%, because the increase in Q3 was not sufficient to make up for the decline at the beginning of the year.

Ca Mau: total production reached 36,000 MT in October
