Rebound in Vietnam cephalopod exports to EU

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first months of 2016, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to Italy and Spain (in the EU bloc) showed the positive growth. Despite a decrease in cephalopod imports into Italy and Spain in the early 2016, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to these two markets rose. This was mainly driven by the decline in cephalopod supply from some main suppliers with high price.

Vietnam tuna exports to Italy shot up

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first two months of 2016, Vietnam's tuna exports to Italy jumped up after a sharp decline in 2015. The total export value of tuna to the market in Jan-Feb 2016 reached more than US$5 million, up 189% year on year.

Ca Mau: Up in fish stocking area in QI/2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Capture and aquaculture production of Ca Mau in Mar 2016 estimated at 44,500 MT, down 3.26% from previous month, and down 7.29% over Mar 2015. In QI/2016 fisheries production estimated at 135,700 MT, completing 25.60% of the plan, and up 4.38% over the same period of 2015.
