Shrimp exports to the US growing in September 2015

(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam shrimp exports in Q3/2015 reported a growth compared to the two previous quarters. Shrimp exports reached US$840.8 million in Q3, up from US$ 573.9 million in Q1 and US$ 716.2 million in Q2 but still down compared to the same period in 2014. From July to September, shrimp shipments increased steadily from US$ 263.5 million to nearly US$ 305 million. The cumulative figure in the first 9 months of this year hit US$ 2.1 billion, down 27.4% from the same period of 2014.

Pangasius- miles to go

(vasep.com.vn) By the end of August 2015, the proportion for pangasius live/fresh/dried/frozen (coded HS 03) has been 98.89% of pangasius exports. Meanwhile, processed fish products (coded HS16) has taken up only 1.11%. The government aimed at raising proportion of added value seafood product to 50% by 2020, and by 2030, the percentage can surpass 60%.

The Netherlands- a market for Vietnamese shrimp exports

Vietnam- second biggest source for processed clams in Italy

(vasep.com.vn) Processed clams from Vietnam are quite popular now in Italy with good price and quality. Processed clam import of Italy is falling but imports from Vietnam are increasing. According to Vietnam General Customs, as of 15th September 2015, bivalve molluscs exports to Italy worth US$ 9.65 million, up 6% year-on-year. Italy is now Vietnam's second most favorite destination for bivalve molluscs in the EU, just after Portugal.

The Netherlands to increase processed pangasius imports

Seafood production continues rising in September

(vasep.com.vn) Data from Directorate of Fisheries showed that in September, Vietnam produced nearly 600,000 MT of seafood, up 1.1% year on year. Through September, over 4.8 million MT of seafood has been supplied so far this year, representing a 2.8% increase from last year's results.

Vietnam crab exports dip

Black tiger occupied 50% of Vietnam’s total shrimp exports to Australia
