(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam is currently the third largest frozen seafood supplier to Mexico , just behind after China and Chile. In Q2/2015, pangasius exports to this market suddenly dropped. June imports halved from May. This also happened in frozen tilapia fillets imports from China.

(vasep.com.vn) Weak demand in main markets, coupled with low export price and fierce competition squeezed Vietnam shrimp exports in the first 10 months of this year. According to statistics of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam shrimp sales in Jan-Oct 2015 reached US$2.5 billion, down 26.7% year on year.

(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam tuna exports to Spain increased in the first 4 months of 2015, followed by a decline in the next 4 months and gained back again in September. Through September, Spain was Vietnam’s second largest importing market for tuna in the EU.

(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam's tuna export to Italy dropped steadily from the beginning of 2015 till September. According to statistics from Vietnam Customs, the country earned over US$ 1.9 million from tuna exports in September only, about 6 times as much as last year's result. However, tuna exports through September declined 39% year on year to over US$ 9.5 million.

(vasep.com.vn) Since 2012, China has been Vietnam's 4th largest shrimp importing market (behind the U.S., Japan and EU), taking up 11.2% in the total shrimp exports by Vietnam. Vietnam shrimp exports to this market kept the continuous growth in each year. Shrimp proportion of the total seafood exports from Vietnam to China is increasingly high. In the first half of October 2015, Vietnam shrimp sales to China gained US$20 million, up 18.5% year on year. Through 15th October 2015, Vietnam shrimp exports to the market reached more than US$268 million, down 22.2% year on year.

(vasep.com.vn) In 2015, Germany was the second largest importer of Vietnam shrimp in the EU. In Jan-Sep 2015, Vietnam shrimp sales to Germany reached US$84.4 million, down 16.5% year on year. In QI/2015, in EU bloc, Germany took the lead in importing shrimp from Vietnam with import value of US$28.4 million, up 4.2% year on year. In QII and QIII, Germany was surpassed by the U.K to slip to the second position due to its economic turbulence and EUR’s devaluation, affecting to shrimp importing demand.

In QIII/2015, surimi exports from Vietnam valued US$78.782 million, down 4.4% year on year. Through September, surimi exports reached US$217,8 million, up 5.7% year on year.
