(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Vietnam Customs, as of mid- Aug 2016, Vietnam seafood exports amounted to nearly US$4 billion, up 5% over the same period last year. The figure in Jan-Aug 2016 was estimated at about US$4.36 billion, an increase of 4% year on year.

Jan-Jul 2016: Vietnam surimi sales went down

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the statistics of Vietnam customs, Vietnam surimi exports in July 2016 gained US$20.6 million, down 12.9% year on year. The figure in the first 7 months of the year estimated at US$135.6 million, down 16.6% from the same period last year.

Vietnam cephalopod exports to Australia went up

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Vietnam Customs, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports in the first 7 months of this year totaled US$2.55 million, up 29.1% compared to the same period in 2015. Of these, despite a small proportion of 1.2%, cephalopod exports from Vietnam to Australia recorded a good growth compared to main importers of Vietnam. In July 2016, exports to this market reached US$447 thousand, up 31.2% over the same period in 2015.

QIV/2016: Vietnam pangasius exports to ASEAN to rise 10%

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Currently, ASEAN stayed as the 4th rank in top largest importers of Vietnam pangasius (after the U.S., EU and China-Hong Kong). As of July 2016, Vietnam pangasius exports to the region valued at US$79.8 million, up 0.2% compared to the same period last year. Out of the bloc, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines, top 3 largest buyers of Vietnam pangasius, recorded the year-on-year increases of 1.3%; 1.6% and 4.4%, respectively.
