Binh Thuan: Aquaculture output reached 1,305 MT in Oct 2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In Oct 2016, capture output in Binh Thuan province (Viet Nam) amounted to 21,101 MT. The figure in Jan-Oct 2016 estimated at 174,801 MT, up 2.1% compared to the same period last year.

Camimex: Net sales hit VND220.3 billion in QIII/2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The net revenue from sales of goods and services of Camau Frozen Seafood Processing Import - Export Corporation (Camimex) in QIII/2016 reached VND220.3 billion, up from VND206.1 billion in the same period last year. The figure in Jan-Sep 2016 estimated at VND658.5 billion, up from VND603.4 billion in the same period of 2015.

Minh Phu Seafood Corp: Profit after tax hit VND41.4 billion

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Minh Phu Seafood Corporation (Minh Phu Seafood Corp) announced its net revenue from sales of goods and services in QIII/2016 with VND3,406 billion, down from VND3,679 billion in the same period last year. The figure in Jan-Sep 2016 estimated at VND8,122 billion, down compared to VND8,369 billion in the same period of 2015.

Mekongfish Co: Profit after tax sharply increased in Jan-Sep 2016

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Mekong Fisheries Joint Stock Company (Mekongfish Co.) announced its gross profit from sales of goods and services in QIII/2016 with VND5.3 billion, down from VND8.9 billion in the same period of 2015. The figure in Jan-Sep 2016 estimated at VND17.5 billion, down from VND24.1 billion in the same period of 2015.

The US – the largest market of Vietnam whiteleg shrimp

VASEP condemn the acts to harm dolphin

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) On November 10th, 2016 one resident of Phu Quoc Island has posted 6 photos on Facebook with comment that “There are 5 fishermen on fishing vessel. After sitting on the dolphin to joke around, the fishermen cut the head of the dolphin and eviscerated it. The photos showed that this is a vessel specializing in catching anchovy.

Vietnam – the biggest supplier of processed clam to Spain

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Vietnam Customs, as of 30th Oct 2016, Vietnam’s bivalve mollusk exports to Spain were worth by US$13.2 million, up 26.5% compared to the same period of 2015. Shipments to Spain accounted for 20% of total export value of Vietnam’s bivalve mollusks and the market also stayed as the 1st largest importer of the item from Vietnam in the EU.

Tuna exports to EU on the rise

Vietnam tuna exports to the EU is showing signs of recovery and upturn in the remainder of this year after several months of declines, hitting US$87.9 million in ten months, a year-on-year rise of 4.9%.
