Japan – the largest importer of Vietnam shrimp in QI/2017

QI/2017: Soar in Vietnam cephalopod exports

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first three months of 2017, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports totaled US$107.1 million, up 31.4% over the same period last year. In QI/2016, exports of squid and octopus picked up the equal proportion, and tended to decline. However, in QI/2017, shipments of squid and octopus witnessed the positive growth and the proportion of these two items had more disparity.

Bac Lieu to become the largest industrial shrimp farming area of Vietnam

Particularly, in recent years, the province has developed a model of high-tech shrimp farming to become the centre of industrial shrimp farming in the country.

Vietnam eyes 7,000 ha of shrimp farming on sandy land by 2025

Vietnam aims to expand shrimp aquaculture on sandy land to 7,000 hectares by 2025, produce some 110,000 tonnes per crop, and ensure 70 percent of these areas have developed infrastructure, according to the Directorate of Fisheries at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
