(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Continuing the downward trend in QIV/2016, Vietnam’s shrimp exports to the U.S in the first two quarters of 2017 decreased by 7.5% to reach US$276.4 million. The figure as of 15th July 2017 was US$306.5 million; down 5.3% over the same period in 2016. Due to the reduction in its imports, the U.S slipped to the 4th rank and Japan replaced to rank the 1st in top Vietnam shrimp importers.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After the fall in Feb 2017, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to Israel continued to show the increases in the last four months. The figure in the first half of 2017 amounted to US$3.6 million, rising by 99% over the same period in 2016. With this growth rate, Israel held as the 6th largest buyer of Vietnam cephalopod.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the statistics Vietnam customs, Vietnam's tuna exports to the U.S fell slightly in April 2017, but then recovered. The figure in the first 6 months of 2017 amounted to US$108 million, up 16% year on year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) After the growth in 2016, Vietnam’s shrimp exports to the Philippines as of July 15th 2017 continued to witness the rise of 41% with the value of US$6.5 million. The Philippines is a single importing market in ASEAN, accounting for 0.4% of Vietnam's shrimp exports to markets.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of July 2017, Ca Mau Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with CP Vietnam Corporation and Centre for Aquaculture and Fisheries Sustainability (ICAFIS) organized a training course on improving management process in shrimp culture for 40 super-intensive shrimp farming households in the province.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The first half of 2017, Vietnam's tuna exports to Israel continued to grow at a high level. As a result, Israel currently ranked as the 3rd largest tuna buyer of Vietnam in the period, behind the U.S and the EU. Through June 2017, Vietnam’s tuna sales totaled US$22.7 million, up 167% over the same period in 2016.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam boosts exports of fresh/live/frozen octopus (HS code 030751 and HS code 030759) to South Korea thanks to the tax rate of 0%. In the first half of 2017, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to the market amounted to US$95 million, up 40.5% over the same period last year. South Korea kept as the biggest importer of Vietnam cephalopod, representing 35% of Vietnam cephalopod sales.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) With the continuous high growth in the first 6 months of 2017, the EU remained as the third largest importing market of Vietnam cephalopod, behind South Korea and Japan. Vietnam’s total cephalopod exports to the EU in the first half of the year hit US$51.5 million, up 101.6% over the same period in 2016.
