(seafood.vasep.com.vn) As of November 2017, Vietnam’s shrimp exports reached US$3.5 billion, up 21.8% over the same period in 2016. This represented the efforts of enterprises when facing difficulties in exports to markets. Moreover, the area and output of shrimp rose in the country to ensure the supply of raw materials for processing plants. The exchange rates of Yen, Euro and Yuan against the USD also facilitated Vietnam’s shrimp exports.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Following the action plan of the Program "Marine product enterprises committed to combating IUU fishing”, on Feb 1st 2018, Vietnamese marine product companies have simultaneously hung the board of commitments to combating IUU fishing at the company gates or doors of processing plants. This is one of the actions demonstrating the determination of the Vietnamese enterprises in combating IUU fishing, protecting the prestige of export marine products and for the sustainable development of Vietnamese fisheries.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam’s cephalopod exports showed the continuous growth from the beginning of 2017. As of November 2017, Vietnam's cephalopod sales totaled US$570.8 million, an increase of 46% over the same period last year. Exports to the top 9 major importing markets recorded the good growth over the same period in 2016. The supply increased thanks to a rise in production and export volume as well as the flexibility of exporters in adjusting the product structure and markets which facilitated Vietnam’s cephalopod exports in the first 11 months of 2017.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first 11 months of 2017, Vietnam’s tuna exports hit US$541.5 million, up 18% over the same period last year. In particular, the export value to most of major importing markets grew positively. Exports of frozen tuna products (HS code 03) accounted for 54.2% of total export value and increased by 14% year on year. Notably, despite the smaller proportion, sales of processed tuna products (HS code 16) increased nearly 22.3% over the same period last year.
