(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In September 2025, Vietnam's seafood exports reached nearly $991 million, up 7.5% year-on-year. Over the first 9 months, export turnover hit $8.33 billion, an increase of 15.5% compared to the previous year. These figures not only reflect a strong recovery in the seafood industry after numerous challenges but also demonstrate the rapid adaptability of businesses amidst global market barriers.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) From September 30 to October 2 in Santiago, the Vietnam Trade Office in Chile organized a delegation of nearly 50 Vietnamese exporters to participate in Espacio Food & Service 2025 – the largest and most influential food industry exhibition in Chile and Latin America. Hundreds of Vietnamese agricultural, seafood, and processed food products were showcased, creating new opportunities to strengthen market access in the region.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) On October 14th, 2025, representatives from Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) had a meeting with Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang Province to exchange views and coordinate efforts in demonstrating the sustainability of the blue swimming crab fishery, thereby contributing to the removal of barriers under the US Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA).

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to a report from Vietnam Fisheries Surveillance Department, nearly 711,000 hectares of brackish-water shrimp were farmed nationwide in the first eight months of 2025, reaching 99.2% of the annual plan. Of this area, black tiger shrimp accounted for 604,500 hectares (100.18%), while whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) covered 106,500 hectares (93.9%).
