Chile sent 51,119 tonnes of mussels (Mytilus chilensis) abroad between January and August this year, representing an increase of 8.6 per cent compared to exports in the same period of 2012 (47,058 tonnes).

The fish landings accumulated up to August 2013 totalled 1.8 million tonnes, 28.8 per cent less than in the first eight months of 2012, when 2.5 million tonnes were landed, the Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Subpesca) reported.

The value of Norwegian seafood exports in September totaled NOK 5.3 billion (USD 889,662/EUR 655,570), an increase of 27.5 percent compared to September 2012.
