Cargill invested US$20 million on a feed plant in Vietnam

(vasep.com.vn) Cargill Feed & Nutrition (CFN) under Cargill Corporation has just finished the US$20 million-project in expanding its animal feed mill Binh Dinh province, Vietnam.

With this expansion, Cargill's total investment into Vietnam's livestock and aquaculture sector has exceeded US$110 million during the last 10 years.

The plant's capacity will post a 4-fold increase from 60,000 MT to 240,000 MT per year, business leader of CFN, Joe Stone said.

Cargill aims to provide customers with safe, trusted feed that maximizes the performance of their operations, which in turn helps to improve food safety across the supply chain in Vietnam, said Jorge Becerra, managing director for Cargill Animal Nutrition's feed and nutrition business in Vietnam.

Cargill is one of the leading feed producers in Vietnam. The company strives to raise its feed capacity to 1.5 million MT per year by 2015 in order to meet Vietnam demand for quality feed.

The plant expansion means that Cargill now has a annually total feed capacity of 1.4 million MT in Vietnam and will create approximately 50 new jobs in Binh Dinh.
