Plans for seafood processing nationwide

Successfully implement the management system based on the traceability chain in all stages for major products, especially, strive to reach US$8-9 billion of seafood export by 2020; have enough capability to create processed and value added products, accounting for 60 – 70% of processed seafood volume.

At the workshop on comments of this plan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam said, along with fisheries development strategy by 2020, fisheries industry has had a legal documents system to adjust the operation. However, some basis for strengthening state management of fisheries industry are lacked including seafood processing plan. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the difficulties and advantages to make goals, opinions and solutions to soon complete the planning draft for issuing on time.
