Established in 1976, being the first seafood enterprise in Binh Dinh Province, and also the pioneer in the state enterprise equitization process (1999), Binh Dinh Fishery Joint-Stock Company (Bidifisco) once owned premises installed with old and backward equipment. For years it has struggled to satisfy national standards on hygiene and food safety, but not eligible for export. The company even faced closedown in case of not being built and restructured by the year 2001. But everythings have been changed totally since Mrs. Cao Thi Kim Lan being the company’s director.
The lady took Bidifisco out of brink of bankruptcy
One year after being appointed as director of Bidifisco, in 2002 Mrs. Cao Thi Kim Lan was bold to make decision to re-construct the processing plant. And this is the only way for Bidifisco to exist and remain operation in the context of growing requirements on hygiene and food safety in both domestic and foreign markets. Difficulties and challenges step by step have been solved. Firstly Bidifisco took risks to utilize its working capital to re-build processing plant. It was a very adventurous and risky decision but also the only way to have better workshops, meeting operation requirements as well as hygiene and food safety standards.
