Thanh Hoa to reach US$62 million of 2014 seafood exports
(vasep.com.vn) Thanh Hoa province reported total wild fish catch of more than 83,000 MT in 2013, according to the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. In 2014, the province plans to boost intensive and semi-intensive aquaculture and catch more than 84,000 MT of wild fishes.
Total fishery production is expected to reach VND1,268 billion. The seafood export target is set at US$62 million.
Thanh Hoa is focusing on the development of farming areas by establishing large-scale farm along with processing and distributing chains. It also stimulates investments in industrial farming activities with a focus on the product quality, food safety, and diversification of farmed species in salt, brackish and fresh water zones in order to provide a various fish supply for processing to export.
