Thaimex: Export value dropped 46 percent

Thaimex said due to material shortage, its export volume in 2009 decreased by more than 60 percent compared with the year’s plan. Last year, the company shipped more than 462MT of seafood, valued at US$2.17 million, equivalent to 54 percent of export value of the previous year.

In December 2009, Thaimex’s seafood export volume was higher than the previous months. It exported 19MT of mixed seafood, 13MT of squid, 17.7MT of roll squid, IQF cat tiger shrimp, etc. to Japan and Israel.
