Q1 Chilean seafood exports up 7% aided by a spike in shellfish exports
(seafood.com) The Fisheries Development Institute (FIFG) reported that during the January-March quarter of 2012 Chilean exports of aquaculture and fishing amounted to US$1.317 billion, 7% higher when compared to the same month in 2011.
The organizition said exports of frozen shellfish contributed to the spike in export values. Chile exported 30,782 tons of mussels, cuttlefish and scallops with an FOB value of US$52.4 million.
