(vasep.com.vn) At 9 a.m on 6 August 2014, the opening plenary of the Vietnam Fisheries International Exhibition 2014 (Vietfish 2014) was jubilantly held in the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC - 799 Nguyen Van Linh Ave., District 7, Ho Chi Minh city). The exhibition is held from 6 to 8 August 2014. For the 16th exhibition, many changes are made. The time was moved from June to August.
The 16th exhibition greets thousands of visitors, hundreds of enterprises inside and outside the country.
Vietfish has been an annual event of trade promotion organized by the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) since its establishment in 1998. Vietfish will feature 230 booths displaying products and services such as fresh, frozen, dried and salted fish and shrimp as well as processing equipment, machinery and other items.

The exhibition ceremony honorably had the presence of Mr. Tran Thien Hai President of VASEP and members of executive board, fishery companies, representatives of 173 which companies from Vietnam and foreign countries and the press.
The organizer sent invitation tickets to trade fairs in Dubai, Japan, the U.S, Belgium, China, Korea, and many other countries. 65,000 online tickets were available for global customers. Global fishery organizations, journalists from Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Bangladesh also joined the event.
At the trade fair, in-depth workshops are held by creditable organizations. “Putting food safety and sustainability on the map” (GlobalGAP and BAP) held by GAA; “Launching-shrimp ASC standard in Vietnam” by WWF Vietnam; “Business Impact on Increasing Food Safety Concerns and How High Techs can help aquaculture industry overcome such concerns” by TUV SUD; “Update the diseases in Pangasius” by Pharmaq Vietnam, Pangasius Forum 2014 by VASEP and SUPA Project are some examples of workshops organized.
