Lack of raw material in central provinces in Vietnam
(vasep.com.vn) Despite a long coastline, some central provinces in Vietnam are still lacking raw materials to satisfy needs of local processing and exporting companies.
This is partly because these provinces have not had a comprehensive planning on catching and farming activities. Currently, there is a tough competition among local seafood companies in purchasing raw materials for processing and exporting.
Over the recent years, these companies have been also facing competition from foreign dealers, who come to buy raw fish at at fishing ports without paying tax.
