In May 2011, Kisimex continued to diversify seafood export items. The company exported 590 MT of seafood, worth US$2.68 million, of which 357 MT of frozen octopus, 80 MT of frozen fish cake, 69 MT of frozen pangasius, over 70 MT of cuttle fish, whiteleg shrimp, etc.
In the first five months of 2011, Kisimex exported 3,838 MT of seafood, valued at US$14.6 million. Korea, Japan, EU, Ukraine are major customers of the company. Kisimex shipped almost 1,500 MT of frozen octopus to Korea; 141 MT of of frozen squid, 262 MT of frozen cuttle fish, 480 MT of frozen fish cake to Japan, the U.S., EU, Cuba and Mexico.
Besides, Kisimex also focuses on developing the domestic market. In the first five months of 2011, the company supplied 150 MT of finished products (frozen black tiger shrimp, squid sushi, cuttle fish sushi, shrimp and seaweed rolls, frozen octopus, etc.) to meet the demand of the domestic market and gained profit of VND39 billion.
