Untill the end of September 2011, Kien Cuong Seafood has shipped abroad more than 1,750 MT of seafood, valued US$15.4 million. In which frozen shrimp export reached 955 MT, worth US$12 million. Russia and Japan were the largest importers of Kien Cuong Seafood’s shrimp products, followed by Australia, Taiwan and Germany.
In recent months, export companies in Kien Giang province purchased enough raw squid for processing. However, Kien Giang Seafood said that squid products were not key export item due to unstable supply. In first nine months of 2011, the company traded abroad nearly 800 MT of frozen squid, mainly to Russia, South Korea and several markets in the EU.
Also in this period, Kien Cuong Seafood sold 255 MT of frozen squid and seafood mix with US$1.9 million through entrusted export contracts.
