In QI/2011, Gepimex 404 has exported 2,037 MT of pangasius and surimi, worth US$4.37 million, in which 237 MT of surimi were directly shipped to Korea and 313 MT of frozen pangasius fillets to 10 markets. In March 2011, Gepimex 404 gained US$1.74 million by exporting 762 MT of seafood products. Its three main destinations were Korea, Algeria and Ukraine.
“This year, exports to Algeria show a positive sign. Gepimex 404 currently supplies pangasius for a great partner there. The company has sent 115 MT of frozen pangasius fillets to this country in March” the company said.
Gepimex 404 plans to continue exporting surimi to its Korea traditional market thanks to its high demand.
Ukraine is emerging as a potential importer so since March 2011, the company has pushed export pangasius to the market. In first three months of this year, the company continued operating entrusted export of over 200 MT of surimi and frozen pangasius fillets to Hong Kong, Croatia, Lebanon and the EU.
