Fish landings up 5.1 percent
(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam's fisheries production in May 2014 was estimated to obtain 554 thousand MT, driving the cumulative volume through May 2014 to hit nearly 2,160 thousand MT (up 3.2 percent year on year), according to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
Marine capture in May 2014 totaled 244 thousand MT. The cumulative output through May 2014 hit 1,161 thousand MT (up 4.8 percent), in which fish landings were 1,097 thousand MT, up 5.1 percent year on year.
In the first 5 months of 2014, aquaculture production totaled 999 thousand MT, up 1.46 percent year on year. The aquaculture output in May up 4.3 percent to 310 thousand MT.
