Ca Mau: Over 237,000 MT worth of aquaculture production
The aquaculture production of Ca Mau province in the early 2013 totaled more than 237,000 MT, 8.3 percent up year on year, constituting 55 percent of the set yearly target.
The industrial shrimp farming area reaches 5,530 hectares, up 530 hectares compared to the end of 2012. However, the further expansion of the farming area is limited due to the rainy season is coming.
The improved extensive farming area keeps steadily widening to 25,700 hectares, 3,900 hectares increased from the end of 2012. It is expected this farming area is going to rapidly expand as the farmers start stocking for the main crop.
