(vasep.com.vn) The installment of satellite positioning machines can facilitate local fishermen to go offshore fishing.
Out of 7,300 offshore fishing vessels of Binh Dinh province; 1,300 ones were funded to be equipped with satellite communication machines integrated GPS. Each vessel was funded VND28 million for the installment.
The satellite technology allows fishermen to receive updated information sent by inshore monitoring stations and send back signals that help authorized agencies update their operation at deep seas.
With the installment of vessel monitoring system, fishermen can get access to timely information on weather conditions, storm alerts while authorized agencies can control fishing vessels at seas and update fishemen’s fishing activities.
